2022 in Retrospective

In Terra Vecchia’s second year, the community of 2021 was widened by people and groups as diverse as they come. From young artists and families from Ukraine that recently arrived in Switzerland to the Storytellers that have been at the heart of the project since its beginning, young people from many walks of life met to create, heal, and be together. With a spcial focus on music, we have not only recorded songs ranging from self-written chansons to traditional Afghani music, but gathered them all in one place.

At the heart of this year’s retrospective is our Songbook: the result of a year of inspiration, and the first page of a new chapter for the Kulturdorf. Further, the full six months of Terra Vecchia have been accompanied audiovisually, allowing you to (re)experience the many different facets of creation at the Kulturdorf.

2021 in Retrospective

In Terra Vecchia’s first year we learned a lot. About the beauty of making art together, about its difficulties. About creating a  community that holds together, far away from the busyness that surrounds many of us in our everyday lives.

But we also created a lot.  While we always prioritised the process over the outcome, we made sure there are a few things we can share with you.

Read

a little or all of our glorious book! It will take you on a journey through the elements worked on in each month. Storytellers and residents share their poetry, thoughts, and paintings. Have a look!

Watch & Listen

to organisers, residents and storytellers reflecting on their experience in Terra Vecchia. From what it means to brush your teeth together in the morning to the difference between culture and soccer, this is what 2021 taught us.
